Description:

Investigating public corruption allegations is a significant undertaking for the Offices of the Inspector General, Professional Responsibility, and Internal Affairs. Public corruption impairs the public’s confidence in the Federal Government faster with more lasting repercussion than any other form of crime or misconduct. Stories in the press of a “crooked cop” or a corrupt government official erode confidence and trust throughout the nation. The proverbial bad apple can indeed spoil the reputation of the Agency and every hard working and dedicated public servant in it. The course is taught by a defense attorney whose career has been devoted to representing federal employees in the defense of allegations and investigations of public corruption. Investigators gain valuable insight into myriad unique issues in these cases, enhancing and perfecting their investigative skills.
