Labor-Management Relations in the Federal Sector: An Orientation for Supervisors
Target Audience: Federal Agency Supervisors, Managers, and Executives
Length: One-Day Seminar
Description:
In “Labor-Management Relations in the Federal Sector: An Orientation for Supervisors” we explain the basic obligations that supervisors have in dealing with a federal union and bargaining unit employees. Using our interactive, case-based presentation style, supervisors learn when they must include the union in “formal discussions” or “Weingarten interviews” with employees; how to respond to grievances and allegations of Unfair Labor Practices (ULP); and about issues that arise when supervising union officials. We work with your labor relations personnel in presenting this course and incorporate various provisions of your agency’s bargaining agreement. This course is perfect for new supervisors or supervisors, managers who are supervising bargaining unit employees for the first time in their career, or supervisors who want refresher training on union issues.
