Training
We provide one and two-day seminars about the federal personnel system, focusing on the discipline and performance process. A majority of our courses are offered to supervisors and managers. Other courses are appropriate for Agency employees or Agents that investigate misconduct by federal employees.
We offer courses in an “open” setting where employees from various Federal Agencies come together and learn the foundations of the federal personnel system. During these courses, the managers and supervisors have a chance to network with their colleagues and learn that the frustrations and challenges they experience are common.
We also offer Agency-specific courses
In this case, we work with the Agency to customize our presentation to incorporate Agency Disciplinary Procedures and Collective Bargaining Agreements. In this setting managers and supervisors are able to talk about Agency philosophy and policies regarding discipline and performance. Often we partner with Agency Employee Relations personnel. We provide the foundational knowledge and overview of the system while agency personnel follow with a briefing of Agency-specific information.
Our courses meet the mandate of the 2004 Federal Workforce Flexibility Act as well as the Office of Personnel Management’s basic supervisor training requirements. Additionally, we can customize training in response to an order from an Administrative Judge of the EEOC, the MSPB, or FLRA.
Our customers have offered our training in a number of ways
- We provide training classes for Agency supervisors or employees.
- We are guest speakers at Agency conferences.
- We provide refresher training through brown bag programs and lessons learned seminars.
- We regularly teach as part of ongoing Agency leadership and supervisory training programs.
